Heading home

This week, like several before it, has flown by. I'm heading home for a visit on Saturday morning, and I still have an epic to-do list to tackle before I board that plane.

I am really excited. For a while now, I've been feeling like I need to recharge my batteries. A jumpstart. Lately I've felt a bit unsettled here, and I'm looking forward to a little break, a breather, a chance to reflect on how I feel and maybe even gain some clarity.

It will be a whirlwind trip: a couple of days in Austin, two weeks in Albuquerque, a week and a half in Indiana. I'm looking forward to post-Growers' Market coffee, dinner dates, pumpkin-flavored anything and everything, massive health food stores, mountains. Sharing cafe tables and couches with friends, having a glass of Croatian wine with Mom, watching old movies with Dad.

That all said, I'll also miss fall in Zagreb, but it's been unseasonably cold and gray here, so I think a few more weeks of warmth and sunshine is worth the trade. Maybe I'll even get lucky and catch a few golden leaves when I come back.
